	What is Eater Meter? Eater Meter is an iPhone software App, designed to assist diabetics in calculating how much insulin to inject with a meal. This time sensitive software runs independently on an iPhone hanset to assist a user quickly and descretely. The historic information can then be used to estimate an effective insulin dosage for a prospective meal. Who is it for? Eater Mater can assist insulin dependent diabetics, who manage a Bosal regeime of insulin application. That is, they inject fast acting insulin with each meal they take. It is assumed that the user will have some prior experience of insulin assessment and can organise their meal constiuents in order of carbohydrate content. Only foods containing carbohydrate need to be entered. What does it do? Eater Meter provides relevent personal hostoric meal, insulin and blood glocose information. It allows records the charbohydrate significant items of a meal to be mapped with the insulin taken. Recordings of blood sugar readings at meal time and two hours after are then used to assess the affectiveness of dose. In this way a database of personal meal information can sson be constructed and then used as reference for futre meals. What its does not do? Eater meter does not provide charbohydrate information about food. It does not calculate insulin requirements. The judgment of insulin amount should still be made by the user.
